   ERIC GIBSON is a stage director based in Columbus, OH whose extensive experience directing opera and musical theatre keeps him in great demand. Gibson is Director of Opera at The Ohio State University after serving as Director of Lyric Theater at Northern Arizona University in Flagstaff for five years staging original productions of The Light in the Piazza, Kiss me, Kate!, Dido & Aeneas, Suor Angelica, Gianni Schicchi, and The Magic Flute. 

  Recent career highlights include his debut in Berlin with a production of Salome for Musikfürmusik Künstler Kollaborativ, and staging The Pirates of Penzance for Opera Project Columbus where Gibson serves as Executive Director.

   For a dozen seasons at LOOK Musical Theatre he directed over forty original productions including Die Fledermaus, The Merry Widow,  My Fair Lady, Candide, Evita, Gypsy, Hello, Dolly! and nearly all of the Gilbert & Sullivan operettas. 

  Gibson is committed to training the next generation of singers, and debuted in 2019 with Varna International in Bulgaria staging Così fan tutte and upcoming projects include teaching acting and directing scenes for IPAI in Kiefersfelden, Germany in the summer of 2025. Upcoming projects at OSU include The Turn of the Screw.
